What this service is actually about

Preparation is the part most tutorials skip. Wall thickness, non-manifold geometry, support strategy, print orientation — each decision affects whether a model comes out clean or fails mid-print. This service covers that decision-making process in structured group sessions.

Participants work through real files — their own or provided examples — with a facilitator and other group members. Problems get named, solutions get tested, and the reasoning gets explained rather than just demonstrated.

Sessions run online, so participants from any region can join without logistics getting in the way. The group format means you hear how others approach the same problems, which is often more instructive than a one-way walkthrough.

How a session moves

File submission

Participants submit STL or OBJ files before the session. The facilitator reviews them and groups similar issues for efficient coverage.

Problem identification

Each file is opened live. Non-manifold edges, thin walls, and geometry errors are identified and explained in context, not just flagged.

Repair and adjustment

Fixes are applied step by step — mesh repair tools, manual edits, orientation changes. Group members follow along with their own files.

Slice and validate

Repaired files are sliced and reviewed for layer issues, support placement, and estimated material use before the session closes.

Session capacity and format

Groups are kept between 6 and 12 participants. Smaller than that, the exchange of perspectives narrows. Larger, and individual files don't get enough attention.

Each session runs for approximately 90 minutes. Files submitted in advance get more time; walk-in questions are addressed in the final segment.

Who attends these sessions

Most participants are designers, makers, or engineers who already use a printer but keep running into the same preparation problems. Some are newer and want to build correct habits before bad ones form.

Sessions are not sorted by experience level — mixed groups tend to produce better discussions. Someone who has printed 200 parts still learns from seeing how a beginner reads an error message.
